Many people shared Rory’s pain today! In fact, only five teams in the top 12 after Saturday stayed in top 12.

However, Mike Urso’s team of Woods, Cabrera, Choi and Schwartzel edged Evan Tursky’s team by one stroke at 41 under. Schwartzel’s birdie putt on 18 was the difference as Evan would have won the tie breaker.

Rick Johnson moved from 27^th place to 3^rd.

The “dream” team was Woods, Donald or Ogilvie, Scott, and Schwartzel - (46 under).

Tim McDonald’s team finished last at 8 over and he collects $50. Craig Walla came in 2^nd to last and gets $25.

Scott Ermers and Shawn will split the Sunday consolation bracket with a three man score of 13 under.

All winners as well as amounts are posted in the final spreadsheet. All results will be final on Friday and checks will go out on Saturday.

Mike Urso jumped from 11th to 1st followed by 2nd round leader Evan Tursky who is now 2 & 3. Bob Cisler rode Adam Scott and jumped from 29th to 4th. Tim McDonald is leading the "worst of the best" pool at 2 over. Remember the worst two teams earn $50 and $25. Brian DeLonjay, Gina Connor and Jennifer Brzana split Saturday's $100 consolation pool for teams that had 3 players left. They tied @ 10 under. Enjoy the final round. Payout levels are in the attached spreadsheet. A recap of monies I have received so far is in the EXCEL spreadsheet. In 8 years I have only not collected $20 so I assume the missing checks will be in my mailbox on Monday.

139 teams made the weekend and now the tournament starts. Evan Tursky's two teams continue to lead the field at 29 & 26 under. 241 teams have three players left and will compete in the Saturday and Sunday consolation pool. 2010 Masters - Final Results

· With a score of 40 under, Mark Rufledt came from 14th place on Saturday to edge Tony Van Egeren by one stroke and win the $500 first prize.

· He would have still won if Mickelson did not birdie 18 as he had the tiebreaker (Phil vs Tiger).

· Pam Ingrum won the $100 Sunday consolation pool (Kim, Watney, Crane); Keith Manke won Saturday’s (Mickelson, Westwood, and Choi)

· The final scores, payouts, and consolation pools are posted on this web site. We paid down 10 places, 2 “worse scores” and the weekend consolation pool.

· This pool will not be official until Saturday April 17. LET ME KNOW IF YOU SEE ANY MISTAKES. Checks will be mailed out next weekend.

Nothing against Angel Cabrera, Trevor Immelman or Zach Johnson, but this was the way the Masters is supposed to be!

· Tony Van Egeren maintained his hold on first place @ 25 under, followed by Tom Greenya and Mike Owart @ 24 under.

· Keith Manke won Saturday’s consolation bracket and $100. His three man team , Mickelson, Westwood and Choi was 11 under on Saturday. He edged Riston Smith, Carl Ingrum and my daughter by one stroke.

· Bill Brandsma is leading the Last place pool @ 16 over, one stroke better than Dan Robertson (we will pay the two teams with the highest score)

· 3rd round updates, the Saturday consolation final scores and the payout level is attached.

In the attached spreadsheet is the 2nd round update which includes Friday cum scores, standings, the weekend consolation teams, and the payout levels.

· Tony Van Egeren remains in the lead @ 20 under followed by Chris Hasbrouck @ 19 under.

· Only 111 teams made the cut; blame Padraig… 86 people had him.

· 219 teams have three players remaining and will compete in the Saturday and Sunday consolation pool.

· Provided everyone pays, we will be paying out $1960 – top ten spots, last place, plus the weekend consolation pools.

Let me know if you see any mistakes, especially the consolation bracket which is always the hardest to construct.

Leading after round 1 is Tony Van Egeren @ 19 under (Woods, Kim, Yang, Couples). There were a couple entries in my mailbox, which when added, brought the total teams to 488.

The payout pool should be around $1,950. The key to this pool has always been having all your players make the cut so good luck tomorrow. We will have a consolation pool on Saturday and Sunday for those teams with just three players remaining. Please e-mail me if you see any formula errors in the spreadsheet.

Attached are the teams that have entered this year’s pool. Please inspect your teams and let me know if I entered any of your players incorrectly.

Before each round, we will post the results to this website. Payout details will be published on Friday. If any of you mailed me your teams instead of e-mailing, I will be home tonight and I will check for these.

2010 Entry Form

1. E-mail your entries via EXCEL (any version). I’ll accept PDF or mailed copies but if you have EXCEL please send via this method.
2. If using EXCEL, enter your team member’s last names only and spell them correctly (this allows us to copy and paste). I selected only one Hansen, one Molinari and the two Johnson’s are in different classes.
3. While the entry deadline is midnight Wed April 7, send me your picks as soon as possible. Entering teams is the most time consuming part of this pool so the earlier I have your teams the better. It’s OK to revise your teams with a quick e-mail, especially if somebody withdraws.
4. Send your money in early. Last year, we collected 100% of entry fees which means we paid out 100%.
5. OK to allow your friends and family to enter also, but I would like to keep total entries below 600. Use your best judgment so this pool doesn’t become unmanageable.
6. E-mail addresses change so send this to anybody who was in last year but has a new e-mail address.

Congrats to Fred Tausend who outlasted Taegan Brandsma and Adam Meier to claim the $500 First Price. His team of Woods, Perry, Baddeley, & Katayama finished 34 under as did Taegan Brandsma’s team, but Fred won the tiebreaker -Perry over Stricker. All tie breakers were decided by the scores of the A, B, C, and then D player.

The Top 15, the 2 highest scores (Marcus Rufledt & Carl Ingrum), and the Sunday consolation tourney (won by Joel Behlmer), are published in the EXCEL file.

I won’t be back home until Thursday of this week so I won’t be sure if all the monies are in. I’ll take any shortfall out of the consolation and the last place pools . Notify me of any mistakes before Friday. Results will be final on Friday and I will mail out all checks on Saturday, April 18.

Thanks to all who participated. It was a great final round and hopefully this pool added to your enjoyment of the tournament.

After the 2nd Round, Adam Meier (-26) holds a three stroke lead over Taegan Brandsma. (Last year I had a 7 stroke lead and lost it on Sunday). More importantly, 11 of the top 15 have either Campbell or Katayama so if they go south there is room for others to move up.

The worst score is currently held by Shaun Joyce who is one stroke ahead of Carl Ingrum entering the final round. Remember, these two places will pay $75 and $50 this year.

Saturday’s consolation pool of $100 will be split 5 ways between Jim Urlick, Terry Barker, John Bartoline, Keith Manke, and Kelly Conley. Their three players finished 10 under and the tie breaker was tied as well. Sunday’s consolation pool starts from scratch for all qualifying 3 man teams.

Special props must go to Taegan Brandsma who has four teams in the top 15! Nobody has ever had more than one team place in the money before.

Woods, Ogilvy, Villegas and Couples were the most popular picks, yet only Dan Marple had this team. Amazing.

Let’s hope the final round has some drama.

Out of 547 teams entered, 148 have made the cut (27%). Bob Jung (-22) has overtaken Adam Meier (-20) for the lead after two rounds.

The average score per class after two rounds:
A: 2.5 under
B: .88 under
C: .41 under
D - +1.9 over par.

Payout levels - $2,200 paid out (subject to all monies being collected). We will pay out 15 places, plus the $100 consolation tourney on Saturday and Sunday. NEW THIS YEAR – For the 148 teams that made the cut, we will pay $75 for the HIGHEST team score and $50 for the 2nd Highest score.

Sorry for the late 1st round posting, but we have 547 teams, the most ever and it took awhile to enter all teams.

Be sure to check that I correctly entered your players, send me an e-mail @ john.brzana@conagrafoods.com if you see a mistake.

I haven’t had time to completely enter who has paid and who hasn’t, but if everybody pays we will pay out $2,200.

I created four different workbooks: Round 1 scores, team scores by player, standings, and picks by player (first 500 teams).

The four most popular picks were Woods, Ogilvy, Villegas, and Couples.

Adam Meier is leading with a score of 19 under, but a lead after round 1 means next to nothing.

Enjoy the weekend and hope your team makes the cut.

Congrats to Mark Rufledt for winning 1st place in this year's pool. His team (Woods, Cink, Stenson and Snedeker) leaped past the chokers on my team to finish 11 under, win by a stroke and collect $450. All winners are summarized on the first workbook. Congrats to my wife who split Sunday's consolation pool with Dave McGarvey @ 3 under. Be sure to double check your teams and my scoring accuracy as all results will not be official until 4/18. I will mail out checks next Sunday 4/20/08. There are few entry fees still outstanding but I am confident that all will arrive in enough time for full payout. Big thanks to Derek Cisler who interrupted a move into a new house to post these results on this website.

Attached is the Round 2 Masters update. 79 of 425 teams made the cut (155/404 last year). The +3 cut eliminated many popular picks. I have also included the tentative payout workbook.I feel confident that all money will be received. Thank God we posted all teams @ 9:00AM Thursday, because two of my teams are doing very well! However, Round 1 results mean nothing.. Everything can and will change over the
weekend. Just hope your teams make the cut! I added a workbook that

This year, we have 429 total teams entered, including ten that picked an ex-KC Chief field goal kicker (Nick Lowery). Actually, this player is Steve Lowery who can't kick beyond 20 yards. I also corrected Daniel (not David) Chopra's name. Check your teams against the grid and notify me of any entry errors or omissions. John Brzana's Masters Pool has become an annual tradition. In what can best be termed "April Madness", the rules are simple: pick 4 golfers (1 from each tier) and hope they do well because their cumulative score is your key to success.
